High-speed SSD VPS hosting from HyperHost
SSD, NVMe, SATA — which is better for VPS
When choosing a VPS, not only the amount of resources is important, but also the type of disk on which your server runs. The speed of loading sites, database response, and project stability depend on this direction.
HDD (hard disk) is a classic mechanical drive with moving parts. Its main advantage is low price and large capacity. But the speed of reading and writing data is dozens of times lower than that of modern SSDs. HDD is advisable to use only for archives or backups, where speed is not crucial.
SATA SSD is a solid-state drive that works via the SATA interface. It is many times faster than HDD, ensures stable operation of sites, and reduces system response time. Such drives are great for medium-load VPS, corporate sites, online stores, or small CRM systems. SATA SSD has an interface speed limit (up to ~550 MB/s), but this is quite enough for most projects.
NVMe SSD is the most modern solution. The drive is connected via the PCIe bus and uses the NVMe protocol, which provides high throughput and minimal latency. Thanks to this, a VPS on NVMe works several times faster than on SATA SSD, especially when processing a large number of simultaneous requests or working with databases. NVMe is the best choice for resources with high traffic, SaaS solutions, 1C, or highly loaded eCommerce projects. These are the drives we use on our servers.
In terms of efficiency:
HDD is cheap, but slow.
SATA SSD is a balance of speed and cost.
NVMe SSD is maximum performance without compromise.
So, if you need a stable VPS for a business where speed is important, it is better to choose an SSD NVMe server from Hyperhost
